Kesäristeilylle 22.-24.6/ Summer cruise June 22nd to 24th

Lähden kesäristeilylle neljän ystäväni kanssa otsikossa ilmoitettuna ajankohtana. Menemme Helsingistä Tukholmaan Silja Serenadella, kivaa! Tukholma on kesällä kauneimmillaan.
Viime kesänä olin samantyyppisellä risteilyllä, silloinkin ystävien kanssa.
Kävimme Tukholman Skywheelissä, se oli hieno. Tämänkertaisen reissun käyntikohteita emme ole vielä päättäneet. Abba-museossa olin helmikuussa, voisin mennä sinne toisenkin kerran, suosittelen lämpimästi! Menkää ja varatkaa useampi tunti aikaa.

I go to a summer cruise with four of my friends on the dates stated in the headline. We're taking Silja Serenade from Helsinki to Stockholm, cool! Stockholm is at its best in summertime. I was on a similar kind of cruise last summer too, with friends. While there we visited the Sky-wheel, it was amazing. We haven't decided where to visit this time yet. I visited the Abba-museum last February, I could visit there again, I recommend it! Go there and reserve several hours to explore it.

Haluaisin varata jo Las Palmasin reissunkin marraskuulle, mutta odotan vielä pari viikkoa. Saan Välimeren risteilyn maksettua ensin. Kaipa malttamattomuus kuuluu krooniseen matkakuumeeseen.

I'd like to book my trip to Las Palmas on November but I’m going to wait for couple of weeks, that way I'll have the cruise to the Mediterranean paid first. I guess being impatient is a part of chronic travel fever here's some pictures from my cruise last year.

Perjantaina menen Nokka kohti kesää-tapahtumaan, tutustun siellä uudistettuun Viking
 Gabriellaan. Siitä ja koko tapahtumasta lisää seuraavassa jutussa.

Kesän matkasuunnitelmia,entäs marraskuu?/ Travelling plans for the summer, what about November?

Moi!/Hi!

Olen jo päässyt yli viime viikon pettymyksestä. Koska olen luonteeltani eteenpäin pyrkivä, mielessäni on jo tuleva kesä ja syksy. Kesäkuussa olen puolitoista viikkoa Hattulassa cp-liiton järkkäämällä teatteria ja taidetta-kurssilla. Kesä-heinäkuun vaihde menee todennäköisesti mökkiviikonlopun merkeissä Hämeessä, perinteinen Meripäiväreissu tietysti myös.

  I'm already over last week's disappointment. As I’m forward thinking by nature, I’m already thinking about the upcoming summer and autumn. In June, I’ll spend week and a half in Hattula at a theater and art course organized by the cerebral palsy association. I'll most likely be spending the turn of June to July at our cottage in Tavastia, of course there will be the traditional trip to the Maritime Festival as well.

Mitä muuta näiden lisäksi? Rauman vanhakaupunki kiinnostaisi, idyllinen Kaffebar siellä. Porvookin kyllä, heinäkuussa menen Tikkurila-festareille Popedan-keikalle.
Elokuun alun jo tiedättekin. Jyväskylässäkin haluaisin jossain vaiheessa käydä.

What else is there? Well, I’d be interested in the old town of Rauma and its idyllic Kaffebar, as well as Porvoo and in July I’ll attend the Tikkurila festival to see Popeda. I already mentioned the beginning of August. I'd also like to visit Jyväskylä at some point too.

Mutta sitten syksyn ja ens keväänkin matkajuttuja. Vaikka nyt onkin toukokuu, parin päivää sitten havahduin ajatukseen, että marraskuullekin vois kehitellä jotain.

But let's move on to autumn and next spring. Even though it's only May, a few days ago I realized that I could plan something for November as well.

Mietin ensin Matka-agenttien mainostamaa kaksiota Teneriffalla, mutta lentohintojen vuoksi matka ei ollutkaan niin edullinen kuin oletin. Olen myös käynyt Teneriffalla jo kaksi kertaa, haluisin jotain uutta. Kysyin Facebookin esteetön matkailu-ryhmässä, Las palmas vai Teneriffa? Tuula ehdotti
Las Palmasia, ethän sä ole vielä käyny siellä? Thaimaakin ois kiva, mut sinne on niin pitkät lennot.
10-12 tuntia märässä vaipassa ei houkuttele, invavessat myös lentokoneeseen, kiitos!

I first considered the two-room apartment in Tenerife advertised by Matka-agentit, but due to high flight prices the trip wasn’t as cheap as I thought. Besides, I've been to Tenerife twice already and I’d like to go somewhere new. I asked for recommendations in the accessible traveling Facebook group, Las palmas or Tenerife? Tuula suggested Las Palmas, you've never been there yet, right? Thailand would be nice but the flight there is so long, 10-12 h. in a wet diaper doesn’t tempt me, accessible toilets to air planes too, please!

Tänään sain tarjouksen viikon matkasta, Soile on luvannut lähteä avustajaksi, kivaa!

Today I received an offer of a week long trip, Soile has promised to assist me then, cool!

Viikon reissusta marraskuun lopulla sainkin tarjouksen, hinta 1130 per henkilö, sisältää majoituksen
aamiaisella, lennot ja lentokenttäkuljetukset.

The offer is of a trip in the end of November cost will be1130 per person, including accommodation, breakfast, flights and airport transportation.

Nyt pyysin vielä tarjouksen 10 päivän reissusta, viikko tuntuu niin lyhyeltä. Soilellekin sopi muutama lisäpäivä. Varasin myös Tukholman-risteilyn 22-24.6.

Now I asked for an offer for a 10 days trip, cause the week felt so short and Soile was okay with few extra days too. I also booked a cruise to Stockholm on June 22^nd till 24^th .

Ei aina käy niin kuin haaveillaan/ things don't always go according to plan

 Miksi tämä otsikko? Siksi, että minun piti olla tänään Ping Helsinki-sisällöntuotantotapahtumassa talkoolaisena. Koska avustajalleni tuli este, en päässyt sinne. Ensin alkuperäinen avustaja ei päässyt, onneksi löysin sijaisen. Nyt hänkään ei päässyt, tosi harmi! Paska juttu!

  Why this headline? Because I was supposed to volunteer at the Ping Helsinki-content production event today but because my assistant was unable to attend I couldn't go. At first my original assistant couldn’t make it but I found an substitute but now she can't come either, which is a shame! It sucks!

Ensin en aikonut mennä koko tapahtumaan, liput olivat kalliita. Sitten näin ilmoituksen, että tapahtumaan haetaan talkoolaisia ja hain. Blogini kääntäjä on ollut vapaaehtoisena monilla festareilla ja tykännyt työstä kovasti. Tapahtuma houkutteli monestakin syystä, mm. ohjelman, tunnelman, ilmaisen illallisen ja verkostoitumismahdollisuuksien vuoksi. Siksi hain talkoolaiseksi ja odotin huomista suurella ilolla ja innolla.

Originally, I wasn’t going to go cause the tickets were expensive. Then I saw an advert saying that they are looking for volunteers, so I applied. The translator of the blog has volunteered in several festivals and has enjoyed it a lot. The event tempted me for several reasons such as the program, atmosphere, free dinner and the chance of getting new contacts. This is why I wanted to volunteer and was really looking forward to it with great enthusiasm.


Nyt harmittaa ja ärsyttää olla vammainen, kun en voi lähteä tänne ilman avustajaa. Vammalleni en voi mitään ja sairastumiset ovat osa elämää, mutta silti.
Haluaisin kovasti kehittää avustajien sijaisjärjestelmää, mutta ei siitä koskaan aukotonta saa.

Right now it's upsetting and and annoying to be disabled, cause I can't go without an assistant. I can't change my disability and becoming ill is part of life but still. I'd like to improve the substitute system for assistants but it'll never be flawless ether.

Uusia matkasuunnitelmia/ New travelling plans

Ihan aluksi pahottelut blogihiljaisuudesta. Tässä on ollut juhlahumua, avustajarekrytointia ja vähän suruakin, yhden tutun poismenon myötä. Olen myös etsinyt kadonnutta koulumotivaatiotani, kysynyt harjottelupaikkaa ja miettinyt päättötyöni aihetta ja sen tilaajaa. Kaikki tämä on vienyt aikaa blogilta.

Firstly, I want to apologize for the silence in the blog. There's been some festivities, assistant recruitment and a bit of sorrow as one of my acquaintances passed away.

I've also been looking for my lost school motivation, asked for a training position and thought about a topic for my diploma work as well as a costumer for it. All this has taken time away from writing the blog.

Mutta nyt asiaan ja matkasuunnitelmiin. Välimeren risteily tulossa kolmen kuukauden päästä. Sinne lähen 7.8. Marraskuulle harkitsen Teneriffan tai Fuengirolan matkaa, viikoksi aurinkoon.

 

But now let's get to the point and to my travelling plans. The Mediterranean cruise is on the horizon in three months. The departure date is on August 7^th . I'm considering a week long trip to Tenerife or Fuengirola, to get to the sun for a week.

Viikko esteettömässä kaksiossa Teneriffalla maksaa Matka-agenttien mukaan vain 565 €. Valitettavasti Norwegianin lennot sinne maksavat marraskuussa vähintään 450 €/henkilö.

According to Matka-agentit 1 week stay in an accessible two-room apartment would cost only 565 €. Unfortunately, the flights there with Norwegian in November cost at least 450 €/person.

Viikko Fuengirolassa puolihoidolla maksais lentoineen noin 700 €/henkilö eli kahdelta henkilöltä 1400 €. Voin toki hakea avustajakustannuksia vammaispalvelusta jälkikäteen, ensin kaikki pitää kuitenkin maksaa itse,ärsyttävää! Ja parastahan olisi, jos avustajat pääsisivät ilmaiseksi tai puoleen hintaan.

A week in Fuengirola with half board would cost about 700 €/ person, flights included which would be 1400 € for two people. Naturally I can get reimbursement for my assistant's costs from the disability services afterwards but I have to pay them myself first, annoying! The best thing would be if assistants were allowed along free of charge or at half price.

Matka-agenttien omissa erityisehdoissa lukee, että matkan loppusumma pitää maksaa 40 päivää ennen lähtöä. Marraskuun matkan osalta se pitäisi siis maksaa jo lokakuussa, hankalaa.

In the terms and conditions of Matka-agentit, it's said that the total sum of a trip has to be paid 40 days prior to the departure. A further complication would be Therefore that a trip in November ought to be paid in October.

Kaamosreissu pimeään aikaan tekisi hyvää ja saattaisi nostaa koulumotivaatiotanikin. Jotain pitäs keksiä sen nostattamiseksi. Matka olisi paras keino siihen.

A polar night trip during the darkest time of year would do me good and might improve my motivation for school as well. I should come up with something to improve it. A trip would be the cure.
